133. In the bid pack we don't seem to have the privacy statement, is this something we have to agree at the Research Marketplace Stage.
The privacy statement does not form part of the bid pack and will be presented to suppliers as part of their online registration to the RM6018 DPS.

131. In our Research Marketplace questionnaire we have used a contract example that is different from the example used in our Selection Questionnaire. Can you confirm whether it is ok to used two difference examples
CCS can confirm that a response input at Q133 and Q134 of the 'Standard Selection Questionnaire' will automatically populate Q1a and Q1b (request for contract examples) of the 'Research Marketplace DPS Registration Questionnaire'. If Suppliers fail to complete Questions 133 and 134 of the 'Standard Selection Questionnaire' they will be required to complete questions 1a and 1b of the 'Research Marketplace DPS Registration Questionnaire' in accordance with the response guidance detailed. Contract examples should therefore be the same whether complete at Q133 and Q134 of the Standard Selection Questionnaire or at questions 1a and 1b of the 'Research Marketplace DPS Registration Questionnaire'.

129. In the Letter of confirmation works it asks for a 'print signature' and 'Please note by inputting your printed signature above, you are electronically signing this 'Letter of Confirmation' and confirming that the information provided is a true reflection of the works undertaken'. What is a 'printed signature'? Is it a scan of the genuine signature, copied and pasted into a document, or is it simply a typed name?
CCS can confirm a typed name is suffice and will be accepted as a genuine signature as per the guidance stated on the Letter of Confirmation of Works template.

With regard question 148 in the pdf version of the SQ (Q: please provide details of previous similar projects where you have demonstrated a high level of competency and effectiveness in managing of all supply chain members involved in steel supply or production so that there was a sustainable and safe supply of steel), please can you advise whether this question requires completion as it has not relevance to the provision of research services?

126. With regards to subcontractors, we have a sole trader who does not have a company number; however, we cannot progress without this. To get around this we have exterered the company number for this contractro as 0000001 and will work sequentially if another contracotr has the same issue.
In the event that a sub-contractor is a sole trader and therefore does not have a registered company number, CCS will accept a sequential numeric reference to be input to enable suppliers to progress through their application.

120. I raised the question below 2 days ago but haven't received a response as yet. It says on Q5 that it is a legal requirement that all companies hold Employer's (Compulsory) Liability Insurance of £5 million as a minimum. Please note this requirement is not applicable to sole traders. We are a small limited company with 2 directors and no employees so will we be treated the same as sole traders, i.e. we don't require the Employer's Liability Insurance. Thanks.
Sole traders and Partners are not employees in their own right, so working by themselves don't require Employers Liability cover.
However if others are employed by your organisation, then Employers Liability insurance is required.
If Employers Liability cover does not apply to your organisation, please select 'no' the appropriate question(s) in the Selection Questionnaire

119. On the third stage of the questionnaire SQ Evidence Submission, we will not have all the evidence (such as bank guarantees) available before the deadline of the 16th. Could you advise what to do here?
Please refer to the DPS Needs document, Part 3 - Economic and Financial Standing, points 21 - 29 for full details relating to financial guarantees.
Furthermore, additional evidence which has not been requested as part of the procurement bid pack e.g. contract examples and Letter of Confirmation of Works, will not be required as part of a suppliers initial SQ submission. Suppliers will however, be required to submit evidence prior to or as part of an award of a contract through the DPS.

117. As an SME we regularly work with partner organisations to deliver work contracts and envisage that we would wish to list more than 20 sub-contractors as potential partners to cover the variety of work which we bid for work.
Please refer to Attachment 6 (Additoinal Sub-contractors) of the RM6018 bid pack and the corresponding instructions and information in the DPS Needs document at point 37. Both documents can be located in the RM6018 Bid pack within the supplier registration marketplace.

116. On Q5 with the insurances, there's a mention of "It is a legal requirement that all companies hold Employer's (Compulsory) Liability Insurance of £5 million as a minimum. Please note this requirement is not applicable to sole traders." We are a small limited company of 2 directors with no employees. As I understand, this is not an insurance we need for our business. Is it OK we don't tick the box?
Sole traders and Partners are not employees in their own right, so working by themselves don't require Employers Liability cover.
However if others are employed by your organisation, then Employers Liability insurance is required.
If Employers Liability cover does not apply to your organisation, please select 'no' the appropriate question(s) in the Selection Questionnaire.
