Should I ever write my password down?

Answer

No, you should never write your password down. You should also never share your password with anyone such as work colleagues.

Background

If you write your password down, somebody could find this and there is a chance that they could access your account and your information. You should consider using a passphrase as these are usually longer, easier to remember and offer greater security.

Steps

  1. If you have forgotten your password, go to the ‘Forgotten your password?’ page from the sign in page
  2. Enter the email address that you used to register and an email will be resent to your email address
  3. Create a safe password or passphrase following the rules on the password page
  4. Press ‘Save’ to create a new password
  5. If you want to change your password, go to your user name at the top right of 'Your dashboard' and use the ‘Edit password’ option
